The people of Bradford have been victorious in halting the demolition of one of the last and largest 1930s art deco supercinemas in the UK. It was bought with public money and stands in a conservation area in the heart of the world’s first UNESCO City of Film, complementing the listed Alhambra theatre next door. Thanks to the efforts of a city-wide public campaign, the building could now play a huge part in the cultural regeneration of our city centre. Follow the progress of the community’s efforts to repurpose the building they fought to restore. FAQs
